Significant quake hits upper east India 

A seismic tremor measuring 6.7 greatness hit upper east India close to its fringe with Myanmar and Bangladesh early Monday. No less than eight individuals were executed and 100 harmed by falling trash in Imphal and somewhere else in Manipur state, police said. 

The tremor struck at 4:35 a.m. neighborhood time (6:05 p.m. ET on Sunday), around 20 miles northwest of Imphal, the capital of Manipur. 

Media reports said five individuals were executed by the quake in neighboring Bangladesh, yet there was no quick affirmation from powers. 

Solid tremors were felt over the locale, the BBC reported. Witness accounts reported a tremor that was not at all like anything they had felt some time recently, NBC News reported, with occupants stirred by yelling relatives and an extraordinary shaking that kept going from 35 seconds to two minutes.
